What’s On My Travel Bucket List for 2019?

travel bucket list 2019

I keep two different travel bucket lists at all times — the travel bucket list of my wildest dreams (Scotland, Italy, etc.) that I’ll slowly check off and my yearly bucket list that I’m hoping to accomplish that year.

I’m not entirely sure bucket list is the right term exactly for this year’s list because a lot of the places on my list for this year I’ve already been to… BUT so many of them have so much to offer that I’m really looking forward to going back.

I’m so excited to get to experience all these different places and I can’t wait to share.

2019 Travel Bucket List:

Chicago

I’m going to be only an hour away from Chicago for my best friend’s bridal shower, so I plan on hopping over to Chicago for a few days! The last time I was in Chicago was when I was in elementary school, so I don’t really remember it.

South Bend, Indiana

My best friend lives in the area now so I’ll be visiting South Bend for her bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding. I was here for a week last year and there’s so many delicious places to eat and things to see around!

Southwest Michigan

My friend’s bachelorette party is going to be in SW Michigan. I’m excited to explore the area more. Last year I spent a day in the area and it’s so gorgeous! Also, TONS of wineries… Pass the pinot grigio!

Toronto, Canada (and Niagara Falls, Canada & Buffalo, NY)

Toronto has been on my list for a couple years now. It’s only a couple hours drive away from where I live so I can’t believe I haven’t made my way there yet. My sister visited last year as part of her summer-before-college-roadtrip and she loved it. On my way to Toronto, I’ll probably stop in Niagara Falls and Buffalo, NY so those are kind of on my list too! I can’t wait to try some buffalo wings in Buffalo!

Washington, DC & NOVA

I used to live in NOVA (Northern Virginia), and I’ve been itching to go back. I’ve actually been begging my husband to agree to MOVE back there. I really love this area and can’t wait to visit all my old favorites. NOVA is only a metro ride away from DC so two birds with one stone, right?

Cleveland, OH

My husband’s college roommates all live in Cleveland now, so we spend a couple weekends every year here. Cleveland is such a great city and has so much to offer so I really love getting to spend time here!

Nova Scotia

I went down the rabbit hole last year researching Nova Scotia, and I’ve been dying to travel here ever since! I’d actually love to do a New England road-trip that ends up in Nova Scotia. It looks like such a beautiful place!

New England Road Trip

Well if I’m going to Nova Scotia I’m probably road tripping my way through New England to get there! There are SO many cities in New England that I really can’t wait to see.

If you’ve been to any of these places, let me know what some must-see and do things are! Also, what is on your 2019 Travel Bucket List?

Turns out you can read a lot when you’re up all night with a newborn. Who needs sleep anyway? (Me. I do. Please sleep through the night baby 🤪)

How did you do on your reading goal for 2022? And what is your 2023 reading goal?

Wowww! I thought this was going to be a light, fun read like JVN’s persona on Queer Eye. I was so wrong in all the best ways! This was deep, emotional, heartbreaking, and beautiful mixed with JVN’s usual fun and witty comments. I highly recommend this book.

I've heard so many good things about this book - plus I read Lock Every Door by Riley Sager last year which was fantastic - so I'm really hoping this book lives up to the hype. We're heading into Fall which always makes me want to read some creepy thrillers (even though I'm a big baby that gets scared SO easily). I also talked my husband into reading it with me (!). We rarely read the same books because we typically like different genres but it's always a fun time when we do. I love discussing books with him (the downside being when he shits on a book I love... but i still love him anyway even if he sometimes has poor judgement).

📖 What are you currently reading?

#bookreview ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I decided #bookreview ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I decided to read this book after seeing it be referred to as “the adult Harry Potter”. Harley Merlin starts out much like Harry Potter... a girl who lost her parents as a young child has some extraordinary abilities that she just doesn't fully understand. The big difference... Harley Merlin is an adult. She's currently working at a casino using her abilities as an empath to help catch cheaters. But soon something CRAZY happens and Harley is thrown into the world of magic... a world she had no idea existed. And of course, the big villain is out for none other than new magical Harley Merlin, but things don't always seem to work out in Harley's favor. There's magic, monsters, and covens... what more could you want?

Let me start off by saying, I did enjoy this book and have read up to book 6 in the series already (out of a whomping 17 books in the series!) and will continue reading until I'm bored of it. The first book I think is a bit loose on what is going on. The magical world isn't quite developed yet and there's a lot of questions that need to be answered. A lot of the characters didn't become relatable and likable to me until the 2nd and 3rd books. I find Harley a bit frustrating in the same way I found Harry Potter frustrating (stop trying to be the single-handed hero!). I would recommend this book to Harry Potter lovers, with the disclaimer that it isn't the adult version of HP. It's another book about magic that follows a VERY similar recipe as HP.
PS. - Someone else please tell me that you think Wade sounds dreamy too..!?
