Wow, this book was a lot to process. The content warnings are a mile long. My husband and I buddy-read this together and I think half the time we both just said, “I can’t believe what I just read”. Every time you think it couldn’t get any more shocking… it does.
The raw trauma described by Jennette in this book is nothing short of heartbreaking. The book starts with Jennette at a young age detailing how she got into acting. We follow along as her career begins to thrive, as she dives deeper into the emotional abuse she endured, and as she starts coming to terms with the toxic environment she grew up in.
Again, please check the content warnings before choosing to read. It is an amazing and heartbreaking book that I would absolutely recommend if you’re able to stomach the content.
